NCAA approves new fifth Bowl Game To say that is not the case? Not another bowl game! Wednesday, the NCAA has approved a new postseason football bowl game in Houston next season. It replace the former Houston Bowl and is the fifth new game approved by the Football Licensing Subcommittee NCAA postseason since the end of last season. The bowl, which was not yet named, will be managed by Lone Star Sports and Entertainment, which is affiliated with the Houston Texans NFL.The the name of the new cut, and other details will be announced later. In April, the NCAA has approved a fifth Bowl Championship Series games to be played in Glendale, Arizona, with the Inteational Bowl in Toronto, the Birmingham Bowl, and New Mexico Bowl.Bowls that were renewed for next season are: AutoZone Freedom, Capital One, Champs Sports, Chick-Fil-A, Emerald, FedEx Orange, Gaylord Hotels Music City, GMAC, independence, Insight, Pioneer PURE Vision Las Vegas, MasterCard Alamo, Meineke Car Care, MPC Computers, Motor City All-State Sugar, Outback, Pacific Life Holiday, San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia, Fort Worth, Rose, AT & T Cotton, Hawaii, Tostitos Fiesta, Toyota Gator, Vitalis and the Sunday New Orleans.Don 't get me wrong I love college football. I like the atmosphere, the crowd and the future NFL stars who dazzle us every Saturday. But we really need more bowl games. There are already too many teams that do not deserve to be in an hour and the NCAA has approved five new games after the end of last season. Some support that makes the game better, is better for fans and schools to gain money, which helps to recruit and other improvements, it can create emotions ... blah, blah, blah.Any team 6-5 is not part of the game in a bowl. Period between the end of the story. Not if they were 0-11 the previous season and well the story of 'years, 6-5 or 6-6 God helps us, but not cut. Why reward mediocrity? If I were a coach and my team was 6-5, I would be surprised! The bowl system in place for a very long time and most of the good ole 'boys in the NCAA do not want that changed. The NCAA, with the universities and the love of counting all the money rolling in companies sponsoring the bowl during season. The problem is that all these games are the bottom of the football school and remove what makes it special. In truth, nobody, even the most difficult college football 6-5 is conceed with both teams playing in a game of ball. Unless you are or have been a former student or is your favorite team.Nevertheless, the NCAA will create more to keep a bowl game and continue to reward mediocrity. Remember, North Texas State in a bowl game a few years ago with a 5-6 record! Excellent.College football is a great institution, but, like all institutions, is in dire need of revision. The damage does not happen for a long period of time. N. dollars, while the liquid and the status quo is so secure. All is the first Inteational Bowl in Toronto by the NCAA and smiles as he tries to conquer the hearts of Canadian fans, I will be at home, the TV switched off, visions of a real playoff system in my dance head.Brian Carson is a writer and a sports fanatic with a group of coaches has created the ultimate multimedia guide to coaching youth soccer Lea more football articles go to Source:
